Who we are

Who we are

Simpol was an idea which occurred to Londoner, John Bunzl whilst doing the dishes and chatting with his mother in 1998. Not long after his epiphany of simultaneity, he developed the idea and in 2001 published a book, The Simultaneous Policy (Simpol) – An Insider’s Guide to Saving Humanity and the Planet. The book gained acclaim from many leading social commentators and activists.

Now the idea is yours, everybody’s to steer, to drive forward, to roll out around the world using social media networks and crowd sourcing global solutions for the sake of everyone, for the good of the planet.

Management and Incorporation

Simpol-UK is presently run by small team of volunteers. The National Coordinator ensures the day to day running of the campaign.

The campaign is overseen by trustees. Trustees stand down at Simpol-UK’s Annual General Meeting (AGM). Members vote yearly to elect new trustees. Membership of Simpol-UK is a minimum of £2 month. (Members are allowed only one vote on policy content, the same as Simpol supporters)

The International Simultaneous Policy Organisation (ISPO)

Simpol is part of The International Simultaneous Policy Organisation (ISPO) which is presently an informal, non-profit umbrella organisation. Simpol-UK’s Founding Declaration explains more about the guiding principles of Simpol and also our relationship to ISPO. As Simpol’s international network grows ISPO’s organisational structure, operation and responsibilities will be developed by all its national members.

Who funds Simpol?

Simpol does not accept money from for-profit organisations. This ensures Simpol's freedom from private and corporate influence, retaining its objectivity, non-party-political bias and making Simpol future proof from co-option. Simpol’s funding comes from the generosity of its supporter members.
